Q. Types of tarmac and colour options?

Q. Does the colour of fade?

Colour doesn't fade, our products use complementary aggregate and pigment which means that the colour is within the product and can never be lost, whatever the amount of wear and tear.

Q. What about the border of the coloured tarmac?

Our coloured tarmacs use a clear binder that allows seamless blending with bordering surfaces. The innovative clear binder is also know as Mexphalte C.

Q. How absorbent is coloured tarmac?

Coloured tarmac has the same absorbance as standard red or black tarmacs.

Q. Does coloured tarmac have special installation requirements?

Coloured tarmac requires no additional installation methods; it can often be laid over an existing surface.


Q. Coloured tarmac maintenance requirements?

Offers low maintenance, same as normal tarmac. This is a great alternative to painted asphalt and blocks which need to be maintained to remain weed free.


Q. What is the guarantee on coloured tarmac?

Q. Are there differences in the surface between coloured and standard tarmacs?

Coloured tarmacs have a smooth surface, ideal for use on trafficked areas as well as for pedestrian areas and more bespoke areas for pushchairs, wheelchairs and bicycles.


Q. Is coloured tarmac ok for environmentally applications?

 For rural or environmentally sensitive off-highway schemes, public parks and gardens the clear-bound aggregate tarmac is ideal and a natural choice for architects, home owners and planners alike.


Q. Is the coloured tarmac surface non-slip?

An even texture provides a safe pedestrian surface, minimising the risk of slips, trips and falls. Is therefore ideal for sports stadiums, football pitches, golf courses, leisure centres, playgrounds and other sports surfaces.


Q. How are chippings added to coloured tarmac?

Chippings are rolled into asphalt of any colour during laying to achieve an aesthetic result. These chippings are usually procured in bulk loads so need to be specified before a job is started.


Q. Is coloured tarmac as durable as original tarmac?

It is highly durable and with improved resistance to surface fretting and has comparable resistance to weather conditions and has the same maintenance requirements.
